LARRY LEE SCANK SR., 82, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 2:15 P.M. Friday, February 12, 2021 at his son’s home in Cloverdale, IN.
He was born October 27, 1938 in Vigo County, IN to Henry Scank and Geneveive (Roller) Scank.
Larry married Patricia A. (Akers) Scank on March 4, 1980, she passed away on June 7, 2012.
Survivors include his children, Larry Lee Scank Jr. of Texas, Gina Dickens of Terre Haute, IN, Christina Scank of Terre Haute, IN, Darlene Lutz of Terre Haute, IN, Anthony John Scank of Terre Haute, IN, Heidi Scank of Terre Haute, IN, Larry Joe Scank of Jasonville, IN, David Lankford Scank of Jasonville, IN, Amy Sittig of Jasonville, IN, Laura Young of Hymera, IN, Dorothy Jones of Colorado; grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Kayla Orr, Jessica Vanoven, Parker Cunningham, Kelsey Butcher, Brianna Long, Braydon Tuttle, Caleb Scank, Khloe Scank, Samantha Young; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Gus Scank of Terre Haute, IN, Betty Girton of Terre Haute, IN; several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife.
Larry graduated Geirstmeyer High School Terre Haute, IN. Received a 2 year degree in electrical from Ivy Tech. Larry liked playing games on the computer and enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and flowers as well. Larry was a US Navy veteran having served on the USS Hale.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 3 P.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2021 with Pastor Sam Bush officiating. In Keeping with Larry’s wishes cremation will be scheduled with burial at Bethesda Cemetery in West Terre Haute with Military Graveside Rites at a later date.
