DONALD WAYNE LIFFORD, 78, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 in his residence.

He was born September 16, 1933 in Sullivan County, IN to Glen R. Lifford and Ivy J. (Mattox) Lifford.

Survivors include his spouse, Maxine M. (Fulk) Lifford of Jasonville, IN whom he married on November 18, 1961; 3 half-sisters and 4 half-brothers; long-time friends, Ron Miller of Martinsville, IN, Bob Ayler of Greenfield, IN, Bill Barker of Greely, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Don retired from Sony formerly Columbia Records with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church, active in Senior Citizen’s of Jasonville, 50 year member of the Jasonville F & A.M Lodge #530, 50 year Indianapolis York Rite, 50 years Terre Haute Scottish Rite, Sons of the Hymera America Legion Post, Highland Order of Bunker Hill #100, Zorah Shrine in Terre Haute. He is an honorary member of many Masonic Lodges in the Terre Haute Valley, MSA in the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, and known for giving Masonic Memorial Services throughout the Wabash Valley.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday with Masonic Memorial Services at 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Cooper officiating.

Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.

Contributions were made in memory of Don to Linton First United Methodist Church or Jasonville Senior Citizen’s. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
