LINDA L. (RHODES) RUSSELL, 76, of Linton, IN passed away at 10:39 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026 in Deaconess Midway Hospital in Evansville, IN.
She was born November 24, 1949 in Linton, IN to Lloyd Rhodes and Leona (Ham) Rhodes.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Bill Russell of Linton, IN who she married on March 28, 1969; children, Anthony Russell (Michelle) of Linton, IN, Asanda Dillingham (Chris) of Linton, IN; grandchildren, Jakob Richardson (Kiera), Gage Mason, Garyck Russell (Taylor), Kendra Davis (Landen), AJ Russell (Caroline), Irelynn Mason, Lucas Dillingham; great-grandchildren, Wrenlee Russell, Phoenix Richardson, James Richardson, Romulus Richardson; sister, Shirley Brinson of Linton, IN; brother in-law, Garry Russell (Linda) of Cadiz, KY; several nieces, nephews and extended family; surrogate mother to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marilyn Anderson; Brother-in-law, Robert Brinson.
Linda graduated from Linton-Stockton High School Class of 1968. She loved working in her flowers and collecting antiques. She was a member of Linton American Legion Post# 22 Auxiliary, and Bethel Community Church in Dugger, IN. Linda worked for Mark Buckley for several years, she had also worked at Form Fit and Walmart. Linda’s favorite job was watching and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026 and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 1 p.m. with Pastor Randy Tucker officiating.
Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville, IN.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Linda to Heroes New Hope Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
