LODA P. (LIFFORD) STEWART, 81, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 1:53 A.M. Tuesday, January 24, 2023 surrounded by her loving family in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center.
She was born June 15, 1941 in Sullivan, IN to Edgar P. Lifford and Hester (Kelly) Lifford.
Loda married Robert E. Stewart on November 25, 1959, he passed away on May 18, 2021.
Survivors include her children, Geraldine A Barnett (Bud) of Clinton, IN, David L. Stewart of Austin, TX, Cathy A. Bilyeu of Lyons, IN, Jerry E. Stewart (Ramona) of Jasonville, IN; 12 – grandchildren; 11 – great-grandchildren; siblings, Ed Lifford (Sue) of Linton, IN, Wanda Chambers of Linton, IN, Helen Hay of Linton, IN, Ralph Lifford (Sherril) of Linton, IN, Betty Mayes of Linton, IN, Phyllis Majean of Linton, IN; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Robert (Bobby) Stewart; brothers, Paul Lifford, LeRoy Lifford.
Loda graduated from Jasonville High School. She was a member of OES in Sullivan. She enjoyed bowling with her husband, they were on a league, she loved working in her flowers, mowing the yard and just being outdoors. Loda loved going to the casinos and playing bingo. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved the time she spent with her family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. Monday, January 30, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.
Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery in Dugger, IN.
