LORENE GARDNER

LORENE GARDNER, 103, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 7:05 A.M. Sunday, March 29, 2020 in her daughter’s home in Worthington, IN.

She was born September 2, 1916 in Jasonville, IN to Fred O. Reed and Wallie S. (Barth) Reed.

Lorene married Roy E. Gardner May 15, 1939 and he passed away on April 11, 1988.

Survivors include her children, Phyllis Jacob of Jasonville, IN, Sharon Reece (Roy) of Worthington, IN, James R Gardner (Helen) of Worthington, IN; grandchildren, Denise Ingle (Rick), Terry Reece (Sandra), Gloria Betts, Sherry Silver (Rusty), James Gardner (Kim), Tina Boucher (John), Roy Gardner (Joyce), Angela Emery (Jim); many great-grandchildren and Great-Great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Reed (Geneva) of Fontanet, IN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Winifred Burris, brother, Fred Reed Jr.

Lorene graduated from Jasonville High School Class of 1934, she worked at RCA in Bloomington starting in 1953 retiring in 1977. She also worked for May’s Greenhouse in Bloomington for 5 years. Roy and Lorene then bought property in Jasonville where they retired. Lorene was a member of Wilson General Baptist Church and attended there as long as she was able.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In compliance with State and County guidelines during this time, the services and burial for Lorene Gardner will be private. Thank you for your cooperation.
