LULA MARIE (SIMPSON) KENNEDY, 89, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 12:48 P.M. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.
She was born August 25, 1934 in Decatur, IL to William Simpson and Lula (Hansford) Simpson.
Lula Marie married Glen Kennedy on September 18, 1969, he passed away on September 22, 1987.
Survivors include her children, Tony Towell (Mary) of Jasonville, IN, Debbie Wogoman (Tim Jr.) of Jasonville, IN, Rita Wilson of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren – 11; great-grandchildren – 34; great-great-grandchildren – 4; siblings, Bill Simpson (Cookie) of Shelburn, IN, Awona Watson of Jasonville, IN, Jack Simpson (Natalie) of Opelika, AL; sister in-laws, Patty Simpson of Shelbyville, IN, Doris Simpson of Coalmont, IN; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Debra Towell; brothers, Jim Simpson, Vola Jay Simpson; brother in-law, Dean Watson.
Lula Marie worked at Charles Industries for 20 years until her retirement. She attended the Jasonville Church of God and loved going to church. She enjoyed baby sitting and sat with many of the children in town. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Lula loved her family and spending time with them, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 1 P.M. with Justin Samm and Pastor Dana Duncan officiating.
Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Marie Kennedy to Southern Care Hospice, 4624 S. Springhill Junction Rd.. Terre Haute, IN 47802. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
