MARILYN JO (ODLE) COOPRIDER, 94, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 31, 1931 in Randolph County, IN to Lee Odleand Melba (Pence) Odle.

Marilyn was a 1949 graduate of Jeffersonville High School and went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Purdue University in 1953. While at Purdue, she met Wendell and they were married on June 14th, 1953. Marilyn taught Home Economics at Clay City High School prior to becoming a homemaker, mother and bookkeeper for the family farm. She was a long-time, faithful member of Lincoln Christian Church. Marilyn was also active in Tri Kappa, Home Ec Club, a dedicated Bridge player and rarely ever missed any grandkid’s sporting event. She was an ever grateful, ever true fan of the Purdue Boilermakers.

Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to the church, family and community through her 3-sons, Mark Cooprider (Lori), Mike Cooprider (Steph) both on the farm, Steve Cooprider (Jennifer) in Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Chet Cooprider(Leslie), Courtney Schmidt (Josh), Kara Armes (Scott), Tyler Cooprider (Abbie), Taylor Needham (Jake), Olivia Soe (Eric), Ryan and Abby Kindt, and her great-grandchildren: Cailynn, Cole and Cheslee Cooprider, Mitchell Schmidt, Nellie and Bridget Armes, Mattinglee and Grant Cooprider, Bexton Cooprider, and Brock Soe; brother, Morris Odle; sister in-law, Mary Ruth Green (Chauncy) and brother in-law, Dane Everwine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell, her parents, brother Rex Odle, sisters in-law, Barbara Odle, Jayne Odle, Ilene Duncan (Bill) and Joan Everwine

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Funeral Home.Services are immediately following at 4 P.M. with Pastor Cliff Ganoofficiating.  

Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City, IN.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Marilyn to Lincoln Christian Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
