MARILYN ROSE BURGER, 84, of Terre Haute, IN went home to be with The Lord at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020 in Cobblestone Health Campus in Terre Haute, IN.
She was born August 12, 1935 in Clay County, IN to Orville Sylvester Gorby and Ina Mae Gorby.
Marilyn married Charles Leon Burger May 2, 1953 and he passed away on September 8, 1979.
Survivors include her children, Jacqueline “Jackie” Burger of Terre Haute, IN, Terry Burger (Linda) of Nashville, IN; grandchildren, Kimberly Burger and fiance’ George, Charles “Chuck” Burger (Whitney), Michael Burger and friend, Denise, Matthew Burger (Charnelle), Andrew “AJ” Burger; great-grandchildren, Hailee, Kalila and Kiyoshi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Gary Joe Burger, sisters, Betty Burke and Donella Grindle; half-sisters, Jewell Streaker and Mary Jane Lucas.
Marilyn worked for several years as an LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse at Regional Hospial in Terre Haute, IN. She received her degree from Ivy Tech College. Marilyn enjoyed being with her family, loved visits from her grandkids and liked reading and working crossword puzzles. She was a friend to everyone that came into her home. Marilyn’s family wishes to thank the staff of Cobblestone Health Campus and Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving care.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2020, with Pastor Brad West officiating.
Interment will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
