IMOGENE FREDIA MARTER, 103, of Worthington, Indiana passed away at 12:25 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 in her residence.

She was born April 26, 1912 in Clay County, IN to Richard Charles Marlow and Emmaline Isabel (Reed) Marlow.

Imogene married Sylvan Henry Marter on October 30, 1934 and he passed away on November 13, 1977.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Rose Ann & Kenneth Lee of Worthington, IN; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Barbara Delores “Dee” Garrotte, Betty Louise Head; sons, Joseph Harold Marter, Melvin Leroy Marter; sister, Geraldine Hockman; brother, Leibert Marlow; infant grandson, Jason Allen Lee.

Imogene was a Jasonville High School Graduate. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Jasonville. Imogene enjoyed dancing, playing euchre, solitaire and bingo. She was a very good cook and enjoyed working in her yard, garden and flowers. Imogene recited her rosary daily.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Father Ken Herr officiating.

Interment was at the Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
