MAVIS M. “MAY” ALLEN, 91, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2019 in Miller’s Merry Manor in Sullivan, IN.
She was born May 24, 1928 in Palatine, IL to Oswald Weidner and Clara (Moldenhour) Weidner.
Mavis married Carol Allen on January 1, 1949 and he passed away on July 19, 1999.
Survivors include her children, Susan Allen of Jasonville, IN, Nancy Allen of Terre Haute, IN, Kathleen Allen of Jasonville, IN, Jane Allen of Jasonville, IN; sisters, Marilyn Tague of Florida, Darlene Rogers of Mississippi; sister-in-law, Sue Weidner of Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years; son, Tom Allen.
Mavis was a homemaker, and enjoyed crafts, cross stitch knitting, 4-H, and church youth group as her kids were growing up. She also enjoyed camping, cooking, baking, gardening, and canning.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with Mavis’s wishes cremation was chosen with no services.
