WANDA M. MCBRIDE, 95, of Jasonville, Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in her residence.
She was born February 4, 1922 in Jasonville, IN to Jesse K. Shacklett and Georgia M. (Rumple) Shacklett, the first of four children.
Survivors include her sons, Robert (Linda) McBride of Jasonville, Jan McBride of Bedford; grandchildren, Michael McBride, Stefanie (Eric) Calvert, Shannon (Tom) Graves, Jenni (Jason) Beeler; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Tharen Burris of Evansville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, James Haley; brother, Russell Shacklett; sister, Virginia Jaskowiak; ex-husband and father of her children, Wayne McBride.
After graduation from Jasonville High School in 1940 she worked as a telephone operator and manager for Indiana Bell and GTE before her retirement. Wanda was a devoted member of the Jasonville Assembly of God Church, where she was active in the church’s prayer ministry. Her love of the Lord, His Word and family were central to her life as a Christian.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. Visitation was scheduled from 11 to 2 Saturday at the Jasonville Assembly of God Church; 339 West Main Street. Funeral Services immediately followed Visitation at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Church with Pastor Sam Bush officiating.
Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
In lieu of flowers contributions were made in memory of Wanda to the charity of choice to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
