RICHARD K. MCCLANAHAN, 55, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 2:07 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 in IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born August 2, 1956 in Linton, IN to Byron L. “Barney” McClanahan and Sueann (Thomas) McClanahan.

Survivors include his mother, Sueann McClanahan of Jasonville, IN; brother, David McClanahan of Jasonville, IN; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; aunt Annalee McClanahan of Jasonville, IN; cousins, Linda & Terry Pahls of Anderson, IN, Steven & Carolyn Bledsoe of Anderson, IN, Janet Bledsoe of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Marcie & Kelly Kugler of Hunterstown, IN, Mark & Ina McClanahan of Brownsburg, IN, Bob & JoAnn McClanahan of Penbroke Pines, FL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Byron L. “Barney” McClanahan on February 21, 1992.

He was a graduate of Shakamak High School Class of 1974. Richard loved nature, he enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. He was a great sports fan of baseball, basketball and football. Richard was also a history buff. Richard was fond of two beagles, Jitterbug and Daisy. He was a member of the Lawton Street Christian Church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.

Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
