LISA M. (SLATER) MCPHEETERS, 52, of Farmersburg, Indiana passed away at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

She was born July 17, 1965 in Sullivan, IN to Jack Slater and Linda (Haskett) Slater.

Survivors include her husband, Michael J. “Mike” McPheeters of Farmersburg who she married on March 29, 2014; mother and step-father, Linda Taylor (Thomas A.) of Farmersburg; siblings, Jay Slater (Cindy) of Sullivan, Larry Slater of Farmersburg, Michelle Kerns (Kevin) of West Terre Haute; step-brothers and step-sisters, Patrick Taylor (Toni) of Farmersburg, Lynn Williams (Jeff) of Washington, Peggy Johnson (Rick) of Jasonville, David Burkett (Dixie) of Jasonville, Gary Burkett (Lisa) of Princeton, Keith Burkett (Tammy) of Jasonville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Slater; step-mother, Cynthia Slater; grandparents, Lowell and Marie Haskett, Conrad and Marie Slater.

Lisa graduated from Shakamak High School Class of 1983. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Ryan’s and Boot City. She was a member of the Ebeneezer Methodist Church of Shelburn where she was very involved in her church. Lisa loved to go mushroom hunting, fishing, and pick wild asparagus. She enjoyed reading, and cooking for family gatherings and cookouts.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Blanton and Pastor Don Ransford officiating.

Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
