MICHAEL DEAN “MIKE” WRIGHT, 47, of Hymera, IN passed away 3:17 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010 in his residence after a long, courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

He was born October 15, 1962 in Terre Haute, IN to Carl E. Wright and Jonilee J. (Scamihorn) Wright. He was married on May 25, 1984 to Paula (Sears) Wright of Hymera and she survives. Other survivors include daughters & son-in-law, Britany Nicole & Jake Vire of Hymera, Vanessa Renee Wright and Ryan Nickless of Fairbanks; parents, Carl & Jonilee Wright of Hymera; grandchildren, Tucker Vire, Hynnlee Vire and Samantha Nickless; brother & sister-in-law, Ted & Christine Wright of Montclair, NJ; sister & brother-in-law, Gina & Mitch Park of Southport, FL; many nieces and nephews; paternal grandmother, Virginia Wright of Shelburn; mother-in-law, Rita Kay Bose of Merom; sisters-in-law, Laura & Glenn Carlow of Indianapolis, Nancy & Jimbo Swalls of Hymera, Susan Crist of Terre Haute, Toni Sears of Sandborn. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harry Otis Wright and maternal grandparents, John & Dorothy Scamihorn.

Mike was a self-employed logger for 27 years in the family logging business, Mike Wright Logging. He was the first state champion in the annual game of logging in Indiana. He was involved with Ducks Unlimited, and NRA.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville, IN. Visitation was 2-7 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 with Memorial Services following at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Michael Lookebill and Dick Jones officiated.
