MICHAEL JOE SMITH, 70, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in his residence.
He was born March 30, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN to Billie Theron Smith and Dorothy June (Richert) Smith Gallion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane (Edmonson) Smith of Jasonville who he married on February 27, 1967; children, Aaron M. Smith of Steamboat Springs, CO, Ryan Smith of Vicksburg, IN; granddaughter, Aurora Hodson; siblings, Tom Boudreau (Karin) of Pueblo, CO, Linda McDonald (John) of Knoxville, TN; very special friends, Jim O’Dell, The Bart Beard Family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon K. (Gallion) Herron and her husband, Jeff.
Mike was a Ski Resort Lodging Manager for 20 years, worked in real estate and was a golf pro. He was a graduate of Colorado Mountain College where he studied Business Lodging and Personnel Management. He attended Wilson Baptist Church. Mike enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the ELKS 866 and was Master Mason FOP. Mike was in the U.S. Navy where he served in Vietnam.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Cremation was chosen and no visitation or services were scheduled.
