Michael John “Titty” Sexton of Jasonville, IN was born on 6/17/55 and passed away on February 26, 2024 at his home.
Titty was a 1974 graduate of Shakamak High School. While he excelled in sports, his most treasured accomplishment was the experience of growing up and then raising his family in a small town with bonds that he carried throughout his life. The experiences of squirrel hunting with his dad, fishing with his mom and the fellowship of close as well as extended family and friends where traditions that he passed to his boys Siler and Shad who now share with his granddaughter Piper.
His work life began early at home and the neighborhood Meyer’s grocery, corn detasseling and progressing to Peabody Coal Co. at the Midland Shops after graduation specializing in Welding, fabricating and everything in between both at the shop and other sister mines throughout Indiana settling at Hawthorne Mine in Dugger as his mother mine until he retired.
Anyone who knew Titty the best knew his heart more than anything else. He was a friend to a child, to a stranger and to anyone in need. The garage was the place to be for decades to hang out, to tell stories and make up lies and to work on his Harley shovelhead and anyone else’s.
Titty was a long-time member of the Cloven Hoofs Motorcycle Club Bloomington Chapter who will be hosting a celebration of life at their clubhouse at a later date to be announced.
Titty was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob Sexton, sister Sharon Heckman,
maternal grandparents Ray and Ada McKim, Paternal grandparents John and Lizzy Sexton,
Nephews Matt and John Mulcahey.
Surviving are His boys Shad Sexton, Siler Sexton, granddaughter Piper Sexton, sisters (PJ) Phyllis Jean(DOn) Bywater, Jeanne (Terry) Brown, several close cousins and their families and the many friends.
With cremation being chosen, it is requested that anyone wanting to honor Titty can do so by buying someone lunch, contributing to a local animal shelter or just take a nice long ride.
