LAURA LOIS HICKS “MORGE”, 87, of Katy, Texas passed away at 4:20 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012 in Texas.
She was born December 2, 1924 in Jasonville, IN to Clay Taylor and Faye (Secrest) Taylor.
Lois married Charles E. Hicks on July 12, 1947 and he passed away on September 16, 1976.
Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Bruce Gant of Dallas, TX; sons & daughter-in-law, Edward & Karen Vaughn of Houston, TX, Ronald Hicks of Terre Haute, IN, Brent Hicks of Houston, TX; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; niece, Lois Ann Stewart of Jasonville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Wilma Jean Keller on July 3, 2012.
Laura was a secretary for a few years and liked to make and sell crafts. She was a member of the Jasonville Triads, Jasonville First Baptist Church and later the Terre Haute Bible Center. She was a Member and Past President of Honey Creek Mother Bee’s.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 12 Noon until 1 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Gibson officiating.
Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
