DAVID A. NEAL, SR., 76, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 in his home in Jasonville, IN. 

He was born March 13, 1939 in Martinsville, IN to James Glenn and Florence (Dunn) Neal.

David married Sandra Sue (Baker) Neal, who passed away in May of 2005.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, David A. Jr. & Beth Neal of Jasonville, IN, Doug & Susie Neal of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Stephen Neal, Sean Neal, Trey Neal; great-granddaughter, Zoey Neal; many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Donna Jo Vandagrifft; granddaughter, Alisen Jessika Jo Neal.

David was a 1957 graduate of Martinsville High School and continued his education at Indiana College of Mortuary Science. He worked at McClanahan Funeral Home for 20 years. David also worked at Four Rivers Rehabilitation and retired from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department where he worked as a jailor. He was a member of the Lawton Street Christian Church. David was a part of the Greene County Sherriff’s Search & Rescue and volunteered at the Red Cross for 10 years.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 3:30-7 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Services were at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.

Interment was at the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions were made in memory of David to the Shakamak Lakers Boys Varsity Baseball team and to the Jasonville Fire Department. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
