NONDUS (NONNIE) KATHERINE (GROVER) MURRAY, born on March 16, 1942, in Walbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2025, at the age of 83 in Hymera, Indiana.
Nonnie’s life was rich with love and creativity. For the last several years of her career she was a Librarian at Shelburn Public Library and a very much loved part of the Shelburn, Indiana community. Before that she was a homemaker, cake decorator, teacher, seamstress and Family Support Worker for Healthy Families. She was very creative and expressed her creativity in cake decorating, sewing, decorating for the holidays photography and she could wrap a present into a piece of art you wouldn’t even want to open. Her favorite pastime was swimming and sunbathing at Shakamak Park and on any beach she could go to, especially in Jamaica. She also loved gardening, sitting outside in the early morning hours drinking her coffee and crafting. She was always willing to help anyone in need, accepted everybody as they were and was a friend to everyone that crossed her path.
Nonnie is survived by her children; Robyn Zavala (Andy), David Murray, Stacy Gover, Michelle Barsness and Michael Mason Sr.. Several grandchildren; Joshua, Alvino, Cristina, Ericka, Ashlee (Jeremiah), Randy, Corey, Weston, Michael Jr. and Colin. Several great grandchildren: Ashlynn, Teagan, Adreyn, Kamaree, Isaiah, Kylee, Jaidyn, Kaison, Kenzleigh, Truett, Brexton, Valen, Austie, Apollo, Colson and Gaia. Best friend: Sabrina. She is preceded in death by her parents Gary and Rowena Grover.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with Nonnie’s wishes cremation was chosen with a Celebration of Life that will be held at a later to be determined date.
