Pamela “Pam” Kay Kirk, 62, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Shakamak Good Samaritan surrounded by her friends and family.

She was born February 29, 1956 in Linton, Indiana to William E. “Bill” Thompson and Inez Maxine Thompson.

Her survivors include her husband of 39 years, Bill Kirk, of Jasonville whom she married on June 2, 1979; son, Dusty Kirk (Holly); grandson, Will Kirk; brother, Gary Thompson (Linda) of Otwell, Indiana; uncles and aunts, Wilbur Thompson (Ruth Anne) of Linton, Indiana, Kay Dowden (Don) of Martinsville, Indiana and Shirley Martindale of Linton, Indiana; cousin and good friend, Maxine Lifford of Jasonville and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. Thompson and Inez Maxine Thompson, brother, Greg Thompson, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Thompson.

Pam graduated from Shakamak High School in 1974.  She attended Nursing School at ISU and Ivy Tech earning her degree as an LPN. Pam dedicated her life to nursing. She had been a school nurse at White River Valley Elementary School for many years and finished her nursing career at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center. Pam was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

She loved to camp, spend time at the pond, and loved babysitting Will.  Pam spent many years as a 4-H leader. Pam showed her love for kids by volunteering for several extracurricular school activities.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 9-1 Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Funeral Services will immediately follow visitation at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Gano officiating.

Interment will be at Walker Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Pam to: The Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Home, WRV Coats & Hats Program & The Angel Tree Program.
