PATRICIA ANN “PAT” (OARE) GRIFFITH, 92, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 2:23 P.M. Sunday, April 11, 2021 in Greene County General Hospital in Linton, IN.
She was born February 20, 1929 in Terre Haute, IN to Norman R. Oare and Lucille (Loudermilk) Oare.
Patricia married Courtney Dale Griffith on October 18, 1947, he passed away on March 15, 2009.
Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Griffith (Martha) of Jasonville, IN, Tami Wonders of West Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Nicole Walters (Travis), Haven Wonders, Tate Griffith, Kourtney Morris (Doug); great-grandchildren, Jake Walters, Hannah Walters, Drake Morris, Brooke Morris, Waylon Griffith; sister in-law, Shelby Griffith of Lewis, IN; nephews, Terry Brady, Alan Griffith (Jamie), Greg Griffith (Kelli) and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, David Oare; nephew, Garyl Griffith.
Pat graduated Wiley High School in Terre Haute, IN Class of 1947. She had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star Lewis Lodge for many years. Pat enjoyed family gatherings, watching her kids and grandkids sporting events as well as watching sports on TV and was an I.U. Fan. She enjoyed walking at at the Sullivan Fitness Center and was usually there 3 times a week. She also enjoyed working at the concession at Shakamak State Park. Pat was a devoted farmer’s wife working daylight to dark, fixing meals, tending to her herb garden and flowers. Pat lived for and loved her family, they were her joy and the center of her world. She enjoyed setting on her porch with her neighbors and friends and her beloved cat, Holly.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 2 P.M. Wednesday, 14, 2021 with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.
Interment will be at Sanders Cemetery in Lewis, IN.
