ROBERT W. PAYTON, 91, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Jasonville, IN.
He was born December 24, 1922 in Coalmont, IN to Fred Payton and Katheryn (Hutchison) Payton.
Survivors include his daughter, Bobbi Payton Reed of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Stacy Reed Collins, Jeremy Teague; special great-granddaughter, Pracilla Leann Stephens; great-grandchildren, Jayden Marie Teague, Jacy Collins, Jostin Collins, Cambri Collins; sister, Margaret Payton of Jasonville, IN; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Eunice Johnson, Mary Jones, James Payton, Richard Payton, Loralee Gorby.
Robert graduated from Coalmont High School Class of 1940. He retired from J.I. Case in Terre Haute, IN. He attended Coalmont Church of God. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Posts in Shelburn and Jasonville. Robert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. No Visitation or Funeral Services were scheduled.
