GEORGE T. PEAVEY, 96, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 6:08 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Greene County General Hospital Linton, IN.

He was born December 18, 1915 in Clay County, IN to Frank Peavey and Gladys (Cooprider) Peavey.

Survivors include his spouse, Iris R. (Pope) Peavey of Jasonville, IN whom he married on March 21, 1948; daughter, Beth Wolf of Jasonville, IN; son & daughter-in-law, Fred & Val Peavey of Houston, TX ; grandchildren, Traver & Paige Wolf, Michael & Chantelle Peavey, Brandon Peavey, Tara & Joe Secrest; great-grandchildren, Jaycie Dunn, Bailey Peavey, Elyssa Secrest, Katie Peavey, Emmalyn Wolf.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rachel Ellis, Eleanor Bridwell; son-in-law, Tom Wolf.

George was a 1934 Clay City High School Graduate. He was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Howesville Presbyterian Church. Farming was George’s passion. He enjoyed reading his farm magazines. Another love of his was the church where he was involved in many ways. George was not a man of many words but a man of much action, this was his way. George’s family was his pride and joy.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Cox Funeral Home.

Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
