DONALD WAYNE PIERCE, 86, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 11:54 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 in his residence.
He was born July 1, 1927 in Terre Haute, IN to Converse Jerry Pierce and Goldie Marie (Beal) Pierce.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie Pierce of Jasonville, IN whom he married on May 15, 1954; daughter & son-in-law, Nancy & Tim Fougerousse of Jasonville, IN; sons & daughters-in-law, Donald & Susana Pierce of Bedford, IN, John & Karen Pierce of Jasonville, IN, David Pierce of Jasonville, IN, Roger & Bobbi Pierce of Linton, IN, Paul & Jaci Pierce of Jasonville, IN; sister & brother-in-law, Ruth Ellen & Nilan “Buck” Wilson of Linton, IN; brother-in-law, Charles “Bud” White of Switz City, IN; grandkids, Anna Schoppert, Juliana Pierce, Kristina Avila, Jennifer Jackson, Mark Pierce, Jessica Whelehon, Amanda Pierce, Josh Pierce, Lois Ann Bilyeu, Dylan Bilyeu, Larissa Fougerousse, Donald Pierce, Miranda Pierce, Leigha Pierce, Lyndsey Pierce, Kayla Pierce; 17 great-grandkids; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers & sister-in-law, Earl Matthew Pierce, Larry Dean & Kathleen Pierce; sister, Norma June White.
Donald attended Midland High School Class of 1945. He was a retired Machinist from NSWC Crane. He was a member of the Linton Masonic Lodge #560 F&AM, Jasonville American Legion Post #172 where he was Past Commander, Worthington V.F.W. Donald loved his country and was proud to serve in the Marine Corps. He was also a very devoted family man. Don was involved with the building of the Veteran’s Memorial at Hanna Field. He was a Marine Corp. Veteran where he served in WWII and Korean War.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday with Masonic Memorial Services at 7:00 p.m. and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Darin McDonald and Pastor Donald Pierce officiating.
Interment was at Antioch Cemetery in Rural Dugger, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
