KEITH H. POPE 88, of Vincennes, Indiana passed away at 5:15 P.M. Saturday, September, 12, 2015 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN

He was born June 15, 1927 in Midland, IN to George Jennings Pope and Audrey Rose (Henney) Pope.

Keith married Patricia ‘Patty” (Weatherwax) Pope on March 17, 1951 and she passed away on January 11, 2015.

Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Kim & Bob Chafin of Vincennes, IN; son & daughter-in-law, Dr. Kirby & Kim Pope of Topeka, Kansas; grandchildren, Andrew & Beth Chafin, Adam & Stephanie Chafin, Nico Pope, Claire Pope, Emmalen Pope; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Landon, Lorelai, Quinn, Emma, Carson, Gunnar, Zayne and Easton; sisters, Iris Peavey of Jasonville, IN and Kay Wall of Anderson, IN; several nieces, nephews & cousins. Keith loved his family very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patty Pope; great-granddaughter, Laynie Renee Kennedy Chafin; sisters, Shirley Johnson and Gayle Spainhower.

Keith was a graduate of Midland High School, class of 1945.  He graduated from General Motors Institute in Flint, MI.  Keith served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He was an industrial engineer with G.E. Electrical Corporation in Linton.  He worked as an electrician for Peabody Coal Company for several years.  Keith served as a school board member for the Metropolitan School District of Shakamak.  He was also a past member of the Jasonville Chamber of Commerce, active in Greene County Gospel Association, and sang with both the Cedars of Lebanon and the Bovenschen Family. Keith was a pastor of the Dugger Baptist Church for many years.  He and Patty were longtime members of the Lebanon Baptist Church and most recently attended Vincennes First Church of God where they were actively involved in the Senior Adults group.  Keith enjoyed repairing and building clocks.  He always had a smile on his face and liked helping others in any way he could.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 5 to 9 P.M., Wednesday and 11 A.M. until service time Thursday at the Lebanon Baptist Church; ST RD 59 S; Midland, IN. Funeral Services were 1 P.M. Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the Lebanon Baptist Church with Reverend Georg Karl, Pastor Fred Nocus, and Pastor Mike Rotman officiating.

Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
