BETTY LOU RASH, 79, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 in her residence.

She was born February 16, 1936 in Jasonville, IN to Wayne Morris and Wilda (McNeely) Smithers.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Floyd G. Rash of Jasonville, IN whom she married on July 19, 1952; children and spouses, Tony & Brenda Rash of Jasonville, IN, Nance & Ken French of Linton, IN and Scott & Connie Rash of Jasonville, IN; grandchildren, Cindy & Fonzie Flowers, Linsey & Jimmy John Yeryar, Brooke French, Jordan & Chelsee Rash, Alison & Aaron Stewart and Clayton French; great-grandchildren, Morgan Yeryar, Fonzie Flowers, Emma Yeryar, Graycen Flowers, Landon Flowers, Collyn Rash, Jozee Rash and a great-granddaughter due in September; sisters, Louise Smithers, Barbara Steele, Carol Goldsworthy and Jackie Haist.

She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in law and father-in-law, Robert and Mary Ada Simpson.

Betty was a 1953 graduate of Jasonville High School. She was co-owner and retired secretary of Rash Hardware. She was a 60 year member of the Lawton Street Christian Church where she was active as a Lydia Circle Member, nursery worker and vacation bible school helper. She was also a member of the Jasonville Tri Kappa and Tri Kappa Associates. She loved to travel, decorating for Christmas and especially loved cooking for and spending time with her family.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 5 – 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.

Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.

In lieu of flowers contributions were made in memory of Betty to Lawton Street Christian Church and Hospice of the Wabash Valley. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
