FRED O. REED, 85, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 12:15 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2010 at his residence. He was born April 26, 1925 in Jasonville, Indiana to Fred & Wallie Susanna (Barth) Reed. He married Mary (Stiffler) Reed on April 12, 1944 and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2004.
Survivors include a daughter & son-in-law, Suzie & Ray Tankersley of Marrero, LA; son & daughter-in-law, Chris & Debbie Reed of Woodbury, MN; grandchildren, Tammy Cronic & Bill, Eric Tankersley & Rachel, Rachel & Josh Platt, Chris & Krystal Reed, Beth Reed; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorene Gardner of Jasonville, IN; brother & sister-in-law, Jim H. Reed & Anita of Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Winifred Burris.
Fred was a tradesman at a chemical plant in Michigan where he worked as a processor and later as a carpenter. He was a US Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville, IN. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2010 with Pastor Sam Bush officiating. Interment was in Lebanon Cemetery, Midland, Indiana with military graveside rites
