JACK E. RIDINGER, 86, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 7:04 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

He was born February 9, 1930 in Linton, IN son of Oren Earl Ridinger and Okla J. (Doane) Ridinger.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Carol E. (Birch) Ridinger of Jasonville, IN whom he married on April 16, 1994; daughters and son-in-law, Jeannie Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Sonja & Stonie Cox of Jasonville, IN; step-daughter and husband, Dana & Ed Malone of Plainfield, IN; sons, Tom Ridinger of Jasonville, IN, John Ridinger of Owensburg, IN, Brent Ridinger of Jasonville, IN; step-son, Danny Rhoderick of Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren, Kristopher Johnson, Nissa Ellett, Joby Cox, Jenny Cooper, Amy Fanning, Andrea Padgett, Ashley Ridinger, Shawn Ridinger, Jessica Ridinger; step-grandchildren, Mallory Curtis, Brittany Spangenberg; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Dex Ferguson.

Jack graduated from Jasonville High School Class of 1948. He had worked at Studebaker in South Bend, IN. He began in the Grocery Business in 1951 and joined IGA in 1954. He also owned several other businesses in Southern Indiana.

Jack was a member of the Jasonville Masonic Lodge #530 F&AM, Jasonville Lions Club, Linton Elks, Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute, Scottish Rite of Terre Haute, Greene County Shrine Club, Jasonville Chamber of Commerce, 30 year Board Member of Bloomfield State Bank, Greene County Redevelopment, Tri-County Housing Authority, Shakamak Medical Clinic Board, Sagamore of The Wabash, Ed Sheppard Award Winner, Past President of Jasonville City Council and a City Council Member, Indiana Retail Grocers Association.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday with Masonic Memorial Services at 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.

Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.

In lieu of flowers contributions were made in memory of Jack to The Back Door Food Pantry. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
