PHYLLIS ROSE RIDINGER, 82, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Southwood Health & Rehabilitation, Terre Haute, IN.

She was born May 2, 1930 at home to Earl (Doc) Rine and Margaret (McGrew) Rine.

She was a devoted mother to her five children, Jeannie Johnson, Sonja & Stonie Cox, Tom Ridinger, John Ridinger, Brent Ridinger; loving grandmother to, Nissa & John Ellett, Jenny Cooper, Amy & Wade Fanning, Joby & Brandi Cox, Andrea & Scott Padgett, Kristopher Johnson & Leah, Ashley Ridinger & Paul, Shawn Ridinger, Jessica Ridinger & Mike; great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren. She loved visiting with her family, friends and playing games with her great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was a Jasonville High School Class of 1948 graduate. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She loved Woodland Bible Camp, was a former Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher. She was a member of the Eastern Stars and Republican Party. She attended the Inaugurations of Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. Phyllis married Jack Ridinger on November 28, 1948. They started in the grocery business in 1951. She was co-owner of Shakamak IGA, Variety Store, Jasonville Laundry & Car Wash, Snack-a-Shack Restaurant. She was owner of Ellettsville IGA & Worthington IGA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joan Rine.

Arrangements were entrusted to Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Kelly and Pastor Jerry Carmichael officiating.

Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.

Contributions were made to the Woodland Bible Camp and Local Food Bank.
