ROBERT E. O’NEAL, 72, of Farmersburg, Indiana passed away at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021 in Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, Terre Haute, Indiana.
He was born December 14, 1948 in Greencastle, Indiana to Marion E. O’Neal and Francis (Higgins) O’Neal.
Survivors include his wife, Joanna D. O’Neal of Farmersburg, Indiana whom he married on June 22, 2019; daughter, Misty Holcomb of Wasilla, AK; granddaughter, Elley Lane; brother, Gerald O’Neal of Brownsburg, IN; sisters, Janice Jackman of Greencastle, IN and Karen Rosson of IL; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles O’Neal.
He graduated from Greencastle High School and was a 12 year veteran of the U.S. Army – 38th Infantry and served in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart for his bravery. He was a truck driver after being discharged from the military.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Saturday at the Funeral Home. Services are Saturday, June 26, 2021 with Cindy Buskirk officiating.
Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
