Robert Melvin “Mel” Jackaway, 74 of Everett, PA; passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on September 13, 1950 in Charleroi, PA: a son of the late Joseph Nelson and Clarice Muriel (Mentz) Jones. On October 19, 2019 in the First Christian Church, Everett; he was united in marriage to Karen T. (Hahn) Jackaway.
Along with his wife, he is survived by son Joshua Caleb Jackaway, married to Sara, Kansas City, MO an Jennifer Sue (Jackaway) married to Noah Albro, Flagstaff, AZ; grandchildren Boston and Weston and siblings Joseph Nelson Jackaway, Paul Leonard Jackaway married to Cathy and Darlene Elaine Jolly.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, where he taught Sunday School and greeted everyone with a smile.
He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1970-1974. He was an engineering technician by trade.
Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we wre still sinners, Christ Died for us.” and Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
