ROY R. ROBERTSON, JR., 66, of Lewis, Indiana passed away at 9:47 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011 in Sullivan County Community Hospital, Sullivan, IN.
He was born April 21, 1945 in Sullivan County, IN to Roy R. Robertson, Sr. and Melba (Padgett) Robertson.
Survivors include his spouse, Beverly Jo (Conner) Robertson of Lewis, IN whom he married on August 21, 1971; daughter & son-in-law, Tracy & Frederick Jeffrey, Jr. of Lewis, IN; son, Roy R. Robertson III of Lewis, IN; grandsons, Wyatt & Walker Jeffrey; nieces & nephews, Penny & Robert Baker of Lewis, IN, Jeff Gilbert of Lewis, IN, Pat & Jan Gilbert of Lewis, IN, Jed & Terri Gilbert of Lewis, IN; brother-in-law, Sam Gilbert of Lewis, IN; several great nieces & nephews; two great-great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Gilbert.
Roy retired from Metropolitan School District of Shakamak where he served as Principal. He was a member of the Jasonville Masonic Lodge #530 F& AM. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday with Masonic Memorial Services at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday 9 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Cox Funeral Home with Kevin Gilbert officiating.
Interment was at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
