Roger Eugene Thompson, 78 of Hymera, IN passed away at 12:00 P.M. Monday, January 6, 2020 at Sullivan County Community Hospital.

He was born May 9, 1941 in Jasonville, IN to John Ed Thompson and Catherine Elizabeth Thompson (Carpenter).

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Judy R. Thompson of Hymera IN; children, Debra Fry (Dan) of Jasonville, Char Lene Mowery (Bob) of Jasonville; grandchildren, Chasity Spade (Tony) of Robinson, IL, Clint Fry (Jes) of Jasonville, Cortney Kennett (Tyler) of Jasonville; great-grandchildren, Jeramiah Kennett, Jenson Kennett, Taylor Spade, Trevor Spade, Finley Fry, Spencer Jay Fry; siblings, Judy Kay Thompson (Oralee) of Terre Haute, Garry Thompson (Bev) of Jasonville, Paul Ed Thompson of Hymera, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson Justin ā€œJā€ Shane Mowery.

Roger was a 1959 graduate of Hymera High School. He worked as a welder for Peabody Coal Company Hawthorne Mine until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and being with his family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday January 10, 2020 with a masonic memorial service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Rotman officiating.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton Indiana.
