RONNIE DEAN “RON” LUXTON, 87, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 in his home in Jasonville, IN.
He was born June 13, 1938 in Linton, IN to John Robert Luxton and Lillian Easter (Secrest) Luxton.
Ron married Mary R. (Shacklett) Luxton on January 1, 1964, she passed away on September 25, 2015.
Survivors include his companion, Linda Brown; cousin, Richard Luxton of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Mary’s family, Brian Shacklett (June), Alvis Shacklett, Pat Shacklett, Doug Shacklett, Jimmy Shacklett, Paula Shacklett, Scottie Shacklett, Danielle Shacklett, Becky Shacklett, Tammy Shacklett and Lindsey Shacklett; good friend and co-worker, Brad Hays; good friend and caregiver, Hal Hall.
He was preceded in death by his Father & Mother, grandparents, uncles & aunts.
Ron had worked at Jet Power Products Inc., Peabody Coal Co., Luxton Electric-Electrical Construction Co, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local# 725 in Terre Haute, IN. He was a charter member of Linton Civitan. Ron was meticulous in all aspects of running his business, this carried over into his personal life. He was very tender hearted and would never harm any creature. He was a very forward looking and thinking, always current in being aware of what was going in the world around him. One of Ron’s motto’s was, to dress for the job you were going for. Ron lived for the next project ahead of him and the challenge it presented.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. Wednesday June 18, 2025 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 2 P.M. with Pastor James Phipps officiating.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.
