ROBERT L. ROSS, 71, of Linton, Indiana passed away at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN.
He was born August 15, 1939 in Fillmore, IN to Walter Ross and Lena (Hedge) Ross.
Survivors include his spouse, Donna Jean (Ogle) Ross of Linton, IN whom he married on January 5, 1957; daughter & son-in-law, Lori & Chuck Williford of Durham, NC; sons & daughters-in-law, Bob & Kim Ross of Jasonville, IN, Jerry & Sheryl Ross of Jasonville, IN and David & Jessica Ross of Linton, IN; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law, Vera Jean & Wendall Clark of Greencastle, IN; brothers & sisters-in-law, Marvin & Lois Ross of Fort Wayne, IN; Herschel & Nancy Ross of Fillmore, IN and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and four brothers.
He Pastored for a total of 41 years. He was a member of the Blessed Hope Baptist Church where he Pastored for 31 of those years. He had worked for Anaconda in Terre Haute for 16 years prior to full-time Pastoring. He also enjoyed wood-working in his free time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Blessed Hope Baptist Church on Hwy 59 and 10 a.m. until service time Friday also at the church. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2011 at the church with Pastor Jerry Ross officiating.
Interment was at the Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN.
In lieu of flowers contributions were made to the Blessed Hope Bus Ministry in memory of Pastor Ross. Envelopes were available at the church.
