CARL E. RUSSELL, 89, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Glenburn Home in Linton IN.
He was born March 1, 1922 in Sullivan, IN to Edward Russell and Maude (Morris) Russell.
Survivors include his spouse of 65 years, Margaret Ruth (Willie) Russell of Jasonville, IN whom he married on December 31, 1945; sons & daughters-in-law, Garry & Linda Elaine Russell of Princeton, IN, William & Linda L. Russell of Linton, IN; grandchildren, Dusty Elaine Russell, Tony & Michelle Russell, Asanda & Matthew Mason; great-grandchildren, Jakob Richardson, Gage Mason, Garyck Russell, Jordan Bogdan, A.J. Russell, Irelynn Mason; brothers & sister-in-law, Hubert Russell of New Castle, IN, James & Daffy Russell of Jasonville, IN, Gene Russell of Jasonville, IN; sister, Edith Blake of Linton, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Willis Russell, Frank Russell, Olive Love, Earl Russell, Creola Morris, Oscar Russell.
Carl retired from Stran Steel in 1981 as a production welder. He was a member of the Lawton Street Christian Church, Masonic Lodge 50-year member, Vigo Masonic Lodge F&AM Lodge #29, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, O.E.S. of Hymera Lodge, WWII Navy Veteran, Jasonville American Legion Post #172, Clay City VFW Post. Carl loved to garden, fish and hunt.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Saturday with Masonic Services at 7 p.m., and Sunday Noon until service time at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Petty officiating.
Interment was at the Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
