RUSSELL LEE GILES I, 75, of Lyons, Indiana passed away at 9:52 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in Kindred Hospital South, Greenwood, IN. He was born April 7, 1935 in Frankfort, Kentucky to George W. Giles Sr. and Armanda Kay (Brown) Giles.
Survivors include his wife Nancy D. (Falk) Giles of Lyons, IN whom he married June 5, 2005; sons & daughters-in-law, Russell L. & Joann Giles II of Bloomington, Leonard E. “Skeet” & Paula Giles of Linton; step-sons, Pat & Stephanie Cundiff of Lyons, Charlie “One Leg” Cundiff of Lyons; sister, Henerietta Butler of Switzer, KY; grandchildren, John D. & Amanda Giles, Jessica D. Giles; several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Russell was a self-employed carpenter and an Army veteran.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville, IN. Visitation was 12-7 p.m. Saturday. Funeral Services followed visitation at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 with Pastor John Ferguson officiating. Military rites followed the service. At Russell’s request cremation was scheduled.
