RUTH ANN (MORRIS) EDMONSON, 77, of Linton, IN passed away at 8:59 P.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in Greene County General Hospital of Linton, IN.
She was born January 30, 1946 in Youngstown, OH to Harry K. Morris and Helen F. (Brown) Gorcheff.
Ruth married Ronald Orval Edmonson on August 8, 1964, he passed away on September 13, 2001.
Survivors include her children, Ronald Edmonson (Gwen) of Linton, IN, Kenneth Edmonson (Kerri) of Linton, IN, Mike Edmonson (Kimberly Haddix) of Linton, IN; grandchildren, Shena, Kerri Sue, Joey, Michael, Heather, Kasondra, Julie, Ronald II; 14 – great-grandchildren; siblings, Marcella Thompson of Mineral Ridge, OH, Faith Leson of Cincinnatti, OH, Rhonda Jones of North Lima, OH, Maddeline Morris of Orlando, FL..
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; infant son, Jay Edmonson; sister, Kathy Schultz; brothers, Phil Morris, Seth Morris.
Ruth worked for Peabody Coal Co. as a heavy equipment operator. She loved cooking, shopping and playing games. Ruth loved playing with her grandkids and great-grandkids and spending time with her family and dear friend Jean Bose. Ruth loved to be the first to tell someone some bit of news they had not heard already. She was always putting others needs before herself. On a final note, this woman will be remembered for her kindness, pizza stew and raisen cookies. Ruth had battled copd, black lung and cancer for many years and is now with the love of her life, her loving husband, Ronald Edmonson.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 1 P.M. with Pastor David Smith officiating. In keeping with Ruth’s wishes cremation will be scheduled.
