JANICE SUE SAMM, 72, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at 6:49 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 in Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.
She was born March 29, 1943 in Sullivan, IN to Robert Wheaton and Georgene (Barrick) Wheaton.
Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law, Robert & Tammy Samm of Jasonville, IN, Bo & Stacy Samm of Jasonville, IN, Scott & Robin McFerren of Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren, Kelsey & Jadyn Samm, Brooklyn & Mariah Samm, Scotty & Shalyn McFerren; brothers & sisters-in-law, Joe & Paula Wheaton of Jasonville, IN, John & Mary Wheaton of Leavenworth, KS; nieces and nephews, Bethany Cunningham, Ben Wheaton, Erin Coleman, Kacy Rodgers, J.D., Leslie, Ian, Evan, & Audrey Wheaton; great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Samm.
Janice was a 1961 graduate of Coalmont High School. She worked as a Paralegal for attorney, Joe Anderson, in Terre Haute, IN. She was a member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church, but had been recently attending Maryland Community Church in Terre Haute, IN. Janice loved her grandkids. She enjoyed learning her family’s genealogy and writing short stories and poems. Janice also enjoyed crafts, scrap-booking and watching movies.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Funeral Service following at 8 p.m. Graveside Committal Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked for contributions to be made in memory of Janice to Moody Bible Institute. Envelopes were available at the funeral home.
