WILLIAM J. “BILL” SAPP, 77, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away October 9, 2010 with his family by his side. He was born April 26, 1933 to William D. & Elizabeth (Gossman) Sapp.

He served in the Korean War 1953, and retired from Stran Steel at Terre Haute, attended Lawton Street Christian Church, and was a member of the Clay City V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by his still born son; his parents; an infant brother; brother-in-law, Allen Markle; and niece, Nancy Sapp.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Mitchell) Sapp whom he married on April 14, 1956; daughter, Becky Hammond (Mike) of Jasonville; son, Danny Sapp (friend Sherry Jo) of Jasonville; daughter, Connie Rash (Scott) of Jasonville seven grandchildren, Byron Hammond (Emily), Hilary Fusco (Nick), Ashley Hammond (Tom Stout), Gentry Sapp (Beau), Jordan Rash (fiance’ Chelsee Gerber), Alison Rash, and Kade Sapp; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Sapp (Dorothy), Rick Sapp (Jane Ann); four sisters, Martha Markle, Mary Kathryn Modesit (Fritz), Mildred Halstead, Linda Knust (Larry).

Bill was a person who loved the outdoors. Loved to hunt and fish and loved to farm, and raise animals. He loved to drive around and talk to friends with his dog, Tank by his side.

Visitation was at the Cox Funeral Home of Jasonville on Monday, October 11, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday 9 a.m. until service time. Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites.
