LEONA MAE SEIFERT, 88, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013 in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Jasonville, IN.
She was born December 17, 1924 in Hammond, IN to Harold J. Evans and Grace (Hoover) Evans.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” Seifert of Jasonville, IN who she married on January 6, 1949; daughters & sons-in-law, Grace Marie & Robert Schultz of DeMotte, IN, Judith Ann & Thomas Mathewson of Plymouth, IN, Sherry Lee & Raymond LeMasters of Linton, IN; sons & daughters-in-law, David J. Seifert of Jasonville, IN, Robert Joseph & Ina Seifert of Hammond, IN, Donald Eugene & Suzanne Seifert of Valparaiso, IN; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters & brother-in-law, Shirley Grimmett of Kentucky, Ruth & Wallace Shoate of Schereville, IN, Mary Janice Evans of Schereville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Leona was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She enjoyed yard sales and playing cards.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 11-1 Thursday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.
Cremation followed funeral services at Leona’s request.
