SHANE C. PADGETT, 51, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 5:38 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2021 in St. Vincent Hospital 86th Street in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born October 5, 1970 in Louisville, KY to Charles B. Padgett and Darla J. (Miller) Padgett.
Survivors include his wife, Mariah (Crowe) Padgett of Jasonville, IN whom he married on December 31, 2015; children, Kenton Ryan King of Seattle, WA, Chase C. Padgett of Avon, IN, Gavin James Padgett of Bloomington, IN; siblings, Heath Padgett (Jessica) of Jasonville, IN, Travis James Padgett (Sharon) of San Antonio, TX, Thea M. Walton (Darren) of Daytona Beach, FL, Talisha J. Crane (Edward) of Terre Haute, IN, Kevin W. Crichfield (Blanche) of Bicknell, IN; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Carl Ray James Crichfield.
Shane graduated WRV High School Class of 1988. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of Hymera American Legion Post #298. Shane was a Special Education Teacher at Eastern Greene Schools where he also coached baseball. He refereed high school basketball and umpired baseball for 20 years. He also drove a trash truck, Shane loved all sports and being involved as a referee and umpire. He was a member of Lawton Street Christian Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday November 23, 2021 at the Funeral Home, services are immediately following at 8 P.M. with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating. There will be Military Rites at the funeral home. In keeping with Shane’s wishes cremation will be scheduled.
