SHARON MARIE (MITCHELL) WEST, 82, of McCordsville, IN passed away at 8:02 A.M. Thursday, September 29, 2022 in Meadow Brook Assisted Living in Fishers, IN.
She was born December 7, 1939 in Jasonville, IN to Lystra Durel Mitchell and Hazel Lorene (Gambill) Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband, Donnie Gene West Sr. of McCordsville, IN whom she married on May 20, 1961; children, Shelly Buchanan (Victor) of Liberty, MO, Donnie West Jr. (Wendi) of Tipton, IN, Douglas West (Maria) of Fortville, IN; grandchildren, Breeanna Buchanan, Dallas Buchanan (Somara), Erica Santana (Eric), Audry Heron (Spencer), Miycala Miller (Griffin), Cameron West (Lisa), Mitchell West, Hunter West, Cheyenne West; 11 — great-grandchildren; siblings, Patsy Hill (Jerry) of Jasonville, IN, Beverly Brashear of Linton, IN, Tommy Mitchell (Shelia) of Blackhawk, IN, Robert Mitchell (Jaquies) of Jasonville, IN, Jim Mitchell of Jasonville, IN; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jerry Mitchell; sisters, Shirley Sapp, Eleanor June Shacklett, Barbara Scott; great-grandchild, Noah West.
Sharon graduated from Midland High School Class of 1957. She worked at Formfit and later at McDonalds for several years. She was a member of Shadeland Baptist Church. Sharon enjoyed making quilts, working crossword puzzles and collecting roosters. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 11 A.M. with Deacon Alvin Gaines officiating.
Interment will be at Sanders Cemetery near Lewis, IN.
