GEORGE B. SHONK, 91, of Jasonville, Indiana and formerly of Paris, Illinois passed away at 11:09 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 in Greenwood Healthcare Center of Greenwood, IN.  

He was born September 4, 1926 in Brocton, IL to George W. Shonk and Dessie (Clark) Shonk.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna Sears of West Terre Haute; son, David B. Shonk of Paris, IL; step-children, Jim Galloway (Cheryl) of Jasonville, Kim Soncrant of Camby, Greg White of Jasonville, Robbie White of Jasonville, Kelli Soncrant (Roger) of Jasonville; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Shirley (Trotter) Shonk; 2nd wife, Joan R. (Ditto) White-Shonk; son, Darryl B. Shonk; brothers, Howard L. Shonk, Charles Shonk.

George graduated from Paris High School in Paris, IL, was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a self-employed painter.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN; coxfuneralhomejasonville.com. Graveside services were scheduled for Tuesday, March 13, 2018, 2 p.m. central standard time, 3 p.m. eastern standard time at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Paris, IL with Pastor Michael Higgins officiating followed by Military Graveside Rites.
