JANICE M. “JAN” SIMPSON, 79, of Hymera, Indiana went home to be with her Heavenly Father at 5:45 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
She was born September 22, 1939 in Hymera delivered by her uncle, Dr. Urban Thralls and her great-grandmother, Susie Keene-midwife, to Herald Geldon Hall and Margaret “Peggy” (Vanderpool) Hall.
Jan married William D. “Bill” Simpson on January 19, 1958 and he passed away on October 19, 2014.
Survivors include her brother, Herb Hall (Frosty) of Clay City; several nieces and nephews; best friends, Rick and Barbara Hall of Jasonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 57 years, William D. “Bill” Simpson; sons, Bryan Keith Simpson and Brent David Simpson; brother, Norman Keith Hall.
Jan accepted her Savior at a young age and attended church all her life until she became ill. She taught Sunday School, Bible School, and Tutored at Christian School. She was a seamstress and a Longaberger Basket Consultant for 27 years. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed working in her flower gardens. God was the center of her life. She was an avid bible reader and with that knowledge, provided loving encouragement to many.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Services will immediately follow visitation at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Olin Strader officiating.
Interment will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
