CLIFFORD DALE SMITH 89, of Barefoot Bay, Florida and formerly of Riley and Jasonville, IN passed away at 1:14 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 in Sebastian, Florida.
He was born March 3, 1929 in Riley, IN to Frank Smith and Agnes (Johnson) Smith.
Clifford married Jo Ann (Mansard) Smith on September 23, 1950 and she passed away on April 4, 2002.
Survivors include his daughters, Deborah Whitaker (Robert) of Jasonville, Cathy Wortman (Harold) of Barefoot Bay, FL; grandchildren, Brent Sexton, Krista Cox (Bryan), Landon Sexton, Michael Greene, Clifford Paul Greene (Meghan), Hannah Souders (Jason); step-grandson, Rob Whitaker (April Ensing-Scott); great-grandchildren, Alexis Sexton, Amza Sexton, Benjamin Cox, Sarah Cox, Braden Cox, Maxx Greene, Gage Greene, Maddox Greene, Kael Greene, Coen Greene, Jordan Souders, Addison Souders; step-great-grandchildren, Marki Scott, Haley Scott; brother, Max Smith (Ruth) of Jasper, IN; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jo Ann Smith; brothers, Robert Smith, Raymond Smith; sister, Sylvia Corbin.
Clifford was a graduate of Riley High School. He retired from Putoff Chevrolet and Smith Upholstery. He was a member of the Jasonville American Legion Post #172 and been in the Naval Reserves. He also owned and operated Smitty’s DX in Jasonville.
Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana.
Cremation was chosen.
A Gathering of Friends was scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Cox Funeral Home. Memorial Services immediately followed at 12 Noon with Father Jeff Read officiating.
Interment was at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
