ELAINE (CRIST) SMITH, 68, of Hymera, Indiana passed away at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, IN.
She was born January 13, 1946 in Sullivan County, IN to Herschel Woodruff and Pauline (Mathers) Woodruff.
Survivors include her children, Ronda Crist of Indianapolis, IN, Aaron Crist of Hymera, IN, Kourtney Smith of Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren, Dawson and Luke; sister, Adlynn House of Jasonville, IN; brothers, Joe Woodruff of Greenfield, IN, Larry Woodruff of Mobile, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Ronald Crist, 2nd husband, Russel Smith; sisters, Dale Williams, Jerry Hood/Williams.
She worked at Millers Merry Manor in Assisted Living. Elaine was a member of Hymera First Baptist Church where she served as Secretary, O.E.S. Lodge #289 and Rebecca’s Lodge of Hymera. Elaine was an Alumni of ISU in Terre Haute and VU in Vincennes.
Arrangements were entrusted to Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation was 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hymera First Baptist Church and Noon until 1 p.m. service time Tuesday at the church. Funeral Services were 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the church with Pastor Larry Ricketts officiating.
Interment was at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
In lieu of flowers, contributions were made to a Memorial Fund that was set up at First Financial Bank in Hymera.
