TOBY R. SONCRANT, 65, of Jasonville, Indiana passed away at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in IU Health Indianapolis, IN.

He was born March 22, 1948 in Linton, IN to Paul E. Soncrant and Bettie L. (Bohnert) Soncrant.

Survivors include his wife, Jamie E. (Irons) Soncrant of Jasonville whom he married on August 26, 1966; daughter & son-in-law, Julie & Michael Prindiville of Lebanon TN; mother, Bettie Soncrant of Jasonville; granddaughters, Mollie, Jessie and Emilie Prindiville; sisters & brothers-in-law, Sandy & Mike Payton of Jasonville, Robin & Charles Brodie of Jasonville; brothers & sisters-in-law, Bill Soncrant of Jasonville, Roger & Kelli Soncrant of Jasonville, Robert & Jessica Soncrant of Linton, IN; mother-in-law, Laura Stiffler of Jasonville; sister-in-law, Annie Estelle of Indianapolis, IN; brother-in-law, Rob Irons of Jasonville; nephews, Matt, Eric, Derek and families; nieces, Tonya, Deda, Maggie, Stephanie, Bille, Kelsey, Kylee and families; many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

Toby was a 1966 Shakamak High School Graduate. He retired from G.E. after 30+ years of service and served as Union Steward. He was currently a bus driver for the Metropolitan School District of Shakamak. He was a member of the Shakamak Community Church. He had coached little league baseball, girls softball, Shakamak High School Girls Varsity Softball. He was a member of Jasonville Sons of American Legion Post #172. Toby loved the Cubs, Indiana Hoosiers and Shakamak Lakers. He enjoyed fishing and loved to play cards with his buddies. He always said that, “His grandkids were the light of his life.”

Arrangements were entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana with Visitation scheduled from 5-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Bush officiating.

Interment was at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
