SONDRA L. “SONNIE” (SIEPMAN) REHMEL, 85, of Jasonville, IN went to be with the Lord 2:15 P.M. Thursday, March 20, 2025 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN.

She was born March 18, 1940 in Terre Haute, IN to Melvin Harry Siepman and Jennie Lou (Sanders) Siepman.

Survivors include her husband, the love of her life of 65 years, Billy Rehmel of Jasonville, IN who she married on February 7, 1960; children, Doug Rehmel of Jasonville, IN, Todd (Kallie) Rehmel of Linton, IN, Jenny Damron (Jeff) of Linton, IN; grandchildren, Jennifer Smith (Joe), Ashley Rehmel, Michael Damron (Sierra), Andy Damron (Ciara); great-grandchildren, Kaden, Lexie, Jazmin, Scarlet, Lilly, Kaylee, Xavier, Jayce, Ryder, River, Hunter; sister, Lana Klega; brother, Harry “HA” Siepman (Mary); brother in-law, Larry Rehmel; sister in-laws, Sandy Goble, Judy White, Linda Lou Sharp, Cindy Rehmel;  several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Jaden Michael Damron; sister in-law’s, Jacque Rehmel, Vicky Rehmel, Shirley Anderson; brother in-laws, Ed Klega, Robert F. Rehmel, Floyd Sharp, Lester Anderson; father and mother in-law, Robert W. and Pauline Rehmel.

Sonnie loved to read, sew, garden, her bridge club and especially playing the piano for God’s glory. In her early years she taught school at Sullivan and Shakamak and was active in many clubs in the community. “Sonnie and Bill became owners of N-Tegrity Farm Service before retiring. Sonnie was a huge part of Shakamak Community Church. She played the piano for the choir and services with love and her specials were beautiful. She loved spending time with her family and friends and she loved her dog, Winston. She was the best mom, grandma and GG.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will be held at Shakamak Community Church, Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m. with Pastor Ron Riggs officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Sonnie to Shakamak Community Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
