STEVEN W. COURTO, 61, of Jasonville, IN entered the gates of heaven on 5:15 pm Thursday, January 30, 2025, giving up his lifetime fight with Kidney failure, in his home surrounded by his family.

Steven was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother and friend.

He was born on September 25, 1963 to Betty J. Courto. The love of Steve’s life was Teresa (Hettich) Courto and they were married for 39 years. Together they had two children, Sara Williams (Nolan), Jesse Courto (Ally). They were also blessed with three grandchildren, Jakob Williams, Layla Williams and Tyryn Courto.

Steven had three sisters and one brother, Linda Hall, Pamela Gregg, Debra Nelson, Michael Courto and several nieces and nephews that he thought the world of.

His hobbies were hunting and fishing, putting many a meal on the family table, but his favorite thing to do was being the biggest fan for his grandchildren. From riding tricycles to 4-wheelers, t-ball to baseball, basketball to archery, shooting BB guns to 22’s. He was always there to cheer them on. He was hired to drywall the newly built First Baptist Church of Shelburn and has been worshiping there ever since. Steve never gave up in any situation, and no matter what, he looked out for his family and those closest to him.

We will grieve and miss him, but will never lose hope and take solace in knowing Steven is always here with us, picking us up and reminding us, never to give up.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 3 pm Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 3 pm with Pastor Ben Wetherington officiating.

Internment will be at Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, IN.
